Market Volatility Drags Rates To New Annual Highs

Mortgages Rates , continued pushing into their highest levels of the year today after yet another volatile session for bond markets. Most lenders initial rate sheets were slightly improved from yesterday earlier this morning, but market movements during the course of the day prompted widespread repricing. By the end of the day, it's questionable to continue thinking about Best-Execution in terms of 4.0-4.125% and more appropriate to shift that range from 4.125% to 4.25%. That said, the combination...

A former executive of Taylor, Bean and Whitaker Mortgage Corporation (TBW) is facing a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison after pleading guilty Tuesday to making false statements and conspiring to commit bank and wire fraud. Mortgage Rates Rise To Highest Levels Of The Year

With the new week comes new pain for Mortgages Rates , which rose to their highest levels of the year today. Lenders have been adjusting their rate sheets all day and by varying degrees, so there's greater than normal degree of variation between them. For the most part, the 30yr Fixed Conventional Best-Execution Rate remains in the same 4.0% - 4.125% range, but for most lenders, borrowing costs at those rates are higher. Mortgages Rates took a beating yesterday, with the recently prevalent 3.875% Best-Execution rate for 30-Year Fixed, Conventional Loans falling completely off the table, leaving 4.0% in control.
