FHFA Outlines Remainder of GSE Strategic Plan

The Federal Housing Finance Agency ( FHFA ) has released its Strategic Plan for the years 2013-2017 . The Plan builds on the one presented by FHFA Acting Director Edward J. DeMarco to Congress last February. FHFA is regulator of the Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBanks) and was appointed regulator and conservator of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government sponsored housing enterprises (GSEs) in September 2008. Shadow Inventory Back to 2009 Levels: CoreLogic

The nation's shadow inventory dropped to 2.3 million housing units in July, down 10.2 percent from where it stood one year earlier. According to CoreLogic's report on the subject, released this morning, in the same month in 2011 the inventory was 2.6 million units.
